KOCH,
plays for keeps. In its bare bones simplicity, his lap
steel guitar has a clear, direct and elegant blues-rock sound and that
sound is nationally recognized. From Pottsville, PA, THE STERLING KOCH BAND consists of three musicians featuring STERLING’S indomitable lap steel guitar and backed by the powerhouse rhythm section of GENE BABULA on bass and JOHN GOBA on drums. Formed for the purpose of touring to support Sterling’s solo album release, Slide Ruler recorded with legendary bassist Tommy Shannon (Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughn) and Grammy nominated drummer Chet McCracken (Doobie Brothers), the band performs a solid, driving repertoire of classic blues-rock original and cover music.
